To kickstart the series, we are delighted to share our inaugural 3 questions series with... Fabien Lemarchand, VP Platform & Security.

Tell us about your time before ManoMano, and your role now as VP Platform & Security

With a Computer Engineering degree in France, I achieved a Business Administration certificate at McGill University. It was in Canada where I caught the cybersecurity bug! After 4 years there, I came back to France, where I led the cybersecurity strategy of several web companies including Cdiscount. Today as ManoMano’s VP of Platform & Security, my role is to build the best digital platform, protect the e-commerce platform from cyber attacks, and maintain the confidence of millions of customers. Additionally, I work in partnership with schools and NGOs to support their cybersecurity.

What advice would you give a young cybersecurity professional hoping to become VP in 10-15 years time?

Be strategic. The expertise is the heart of the role, but you have to be an excellent speaker with a clear way to express yourself in order to show the impact and value of the cybersecurity in an organisation.

Where would be your ideal location to work from home and why?

Ideally a balance between the office to work collaboratively with my teams, and a house right in front of the ocean for my creative and thinking time - and for surfing at sunset at my favourite spot in Le Porge, near Bordeaux!
